Right up 31w, just outside of Munfordville there is a beautiful historic house and grounds.

Hart County News-Herald - Letter to the editor

Dear Editor,

As many readers are aware, the Bonnieville community is having scheduled meetings to discuss plans for sharing a vision for our future. Plans to move forward and grow without drastically impacting and altering our small home town feel. Each of us have a rare opportunity to be a part of what happens in our community. If you do not share your ideas, no one will ever know what you want, what you hope for, what your concerns are. It's your town too.
Bonnieville is making plans, be a part of it. !

There are lots of ideas being discussed at these meetings, for example; How can we raise funds for a community center? Would anyone have a small piece of land or a building they could donate to the city? How can we get small businesses to invest in moving here? How we can make those driving through our town stop and say to themselves, “I’d like to live here”?

There are so many areas of interest up for discussion, I am sure you can find one that you can contribute to. Even in these tough economic times when our budgets are tight, you can still contribute. Maybe all you have to give is a little time, a few ideas, you could plant some flowers or bake a cake for an upcoming fundraiser. Each of us have a rare opportunity to be a part of something important, something that matters. Something that will impact every family in our town for generations to come.

Our community is made up of many kind and caring people who want to participate in a positive step forward. Reach out to your neighbor, get involved in the meetings, make time to show up and participate at an upcoming community event. We have all seen firsthand, the kindness and fortitude of the people who live in our community during a neighbors time of need.

Change will happen, it takes time and patience, but change will happen, with or without us. This is your chance to get involved with our community and communities' issues that are important to you and your family. We all have it in our power to make our little town something we are all proud of.

Borrowing a question posed by Mr. Long at the last meeting.
Want to know what comes next ?
I encourage you to come to the next meeting and see…

See you Thursday, April 15th at the firehouse.

“If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.”
